In respect to a systemic and algorithmic approach to the study of money and monetary phenomenon in relationship with the economy and society at large, the study of critical realism in the Islamic socioeconomic context bears upon the study of the fundamental socio-scientific problem. This is the epistemic study of the unity of being between the moral and material integration of money and real economy resource interaction as one of the ‘everything’ that embodies the analytical study of the moral-materiality as the nature of consciousness driving the law of unity of knowledge. The qur’anic, and thereby, Islamic epistemic foundation of critical realism is premised in this universal and unique law. Monetary study as to its nature and embedding in the socioeconomic system is a particular, very critical topic of critical realism.
