About the Journal

Journal of Critical Realism in Socio-Economics (JOCRISE) will focus on the nature, logic and role that consciousness of sustainability plays in formulating new alternative futures in economics, finance, accounting, and the social sciences as embedded socially inclusive analytical disciplines. The focus will be on laying down the philosophy of these disciplines in socio-economic studies. The immanent sub-themes will be of particular significance in these new dimensions of socio-economics post Covid-19 and on aiming at a distinctive new intellectual world future of ecological and wellbeing consciousness. The content of issues will be conceptual, qualitative, quantitative and applied. In fact, the extant of intellectual coverage comprises the interrelations between diverse issues and agencies between the heavens and the earth.

The written content will be of a high level of sophistication.  Especial attention will be given to the treatment of critical realism theory in decision-making and scholarly inquiry of diverse socio-economic development themes. In this regard, the submitted topics can be in a widest field of concepts and applications in critical realism applied to socio-economic and socio-scientific diversity of issues and problems. The dissemination of JOCRISE quarterly issues by hardcopies and online will serve as important educational materials at the highest level of academic studies. It will also serve as material for thoughtful global policy makers by understanding newer horizons of global and planetary relations for the common wellbeing of all.

Vol. 4 No. 04 (2026): ROLE OF RELIGIOUS KNOWLEDGE IN THE THEORY OF CRITICAL REALISM

The papers published in this issue of JOCRISE point out the critical question: Is religion a static vista of endowed knowledge to attain self within the vastest span of reality comprising the momentous other, and vice-a-versa? Or is there a dialectical potentiality sustained by religious knowledge for the advancement of meta-universal thought based on an ego version of self and actuality, contra reality? Despite a subtle difference between these two paths towards comprehending meanings of critical realism, the object of destining a particular comprehension of reality remains evasive, be this in the domain of any and every category of socio-scientific and abstract existent.  Contrarily, there exists the worldview, singularly established in the Qur’anic law of monotheism analytically actualized and dialectically advanced across the meta-universality of ‘everything’.
